6-1-03: In fact, he seemed pretty non-responsive in general. I'm sure he was too cold to care overmuch about what we were doing.

7-2-03: These little guys were growing, although the mushrooms were not, near Salmon La Sac. They had a very firm, almost rubbery texture and I have no idea what they were, other than some kind of baby plant.

8-12-03: One of my favorite hiking areas is Denny Creek. It has a great campground, plus two short trails with a great reward at the end – the Denny Creek/Lake Molakwa trail and the Franklin Falls trail. This was my first trip out there, and on this occasion I only made it as far as the Denny Creek waterslides, an area of Denny Creek where the water has worn the rocks smooth on a gentle decline. So, if you're wearing thick pants and can brave the icy water, you can slide down the rocks for 30 or 40 feet, in 10 foot stretches between pools.

I'm not sure what species this white compound flower might be.
