A little fiddling with point of focus allowed me to catch the light glimmering on the white caps. It was doing it even more in real life.
Of course, the setting sun meant we had to make quick work of the walk back... I did manage to snag this shot of the sun setting over the hills. I like the strange little windswept tree in the center of the photo, too.
I'll admit to color correcting this picture after the fact to make it look more like it did in real life. The horizen really was that burning shade of orange, and the sky that strange color of dusky periwinkle. We got back to the car just as the last bit of daylight faded from the sky.
I bet you were thinking, Gee, that's not so bad. All those photos and not a single slug among them.
Well, when we got home, we found a slug! It apparently crawled in under the door. Aren't you going to take its picture?
Eric asked sarcastically. What else was I going to do?
Besides, I didn't know they had spotted yellow slugs here. They certainly aren't as brilliant as our black and yellow northwestern banana slugs, but they do have blue eyestalks.
That's all of this set of photos! Eventually more will be added here too -- I have lots of photos from 2006 and 2007 that aren't sorted yet. To see all the photos again, put the pointer in the start again
